FAQ

Frequently Asked
(and Answered) Questions

Q:  What is a Custom Modular Home?
A:  Ritz-Craft Custom Modular Homes are constructed in a climate-controlled environment protected from the weather.  Each Ritz-Craft home is built to the same building code requirements as your local site builder.  Each home is built in programmed stages, floor treatments, framing, insulation, drywall, roofing, windows, siding, cabinetry, plumbing and lighting fixtures are installed and completed by craftsmen utilizing state of the art production technology.  All homes are inspected by third party inspectors before leaving the plant.  Each home is shipped on two or more carriers to the building site, erected to the foundation by a qualified set crew and completed by John A. Alvarez & Sons, Inc.

Q:  What is a Manufactured Home?
A:  Manufactured homes are built in a climate-controlled environment in sections and have to conform to a Federal Code called a HUD Code, rather than to building codes of their destinations.  Manufactured homes are built on a non-removable steel chassis.  The home is transported in sections to the building site where they are set on a slab and joined together.

Q:  Can I build a custom home plan of my own design?
A:  Computer aided drafting (CAD), allows for precision customization of your floor plan design.  However, shipping restrictions and production constraints can affect the design.  If you have a plan, we suggest that you submit it for approval or for the changes needed that will enable us to build your home. Ritz-Craft Custom Homes has a complete website of floor plans, designs and elevations that can be modified. Our goal is to turn your dreams into reality.

Q:  Do all Modular Homes look alike?
A:  No, exterior elevations are customizable and your plans are drawn to your specifications.

A:  No.  Most banks, insurance companies and appraisers treat modular homes the same way they would a site-built home.
